To compel the spirits and demons called jinn or djin spells and incantations are used. There are two types of conjuring. The first is bad and it directs the mind to the objects rather than God which means being unfaithful and act in manner harmful to others. Second one is viewed in more positive way and it concerns conjuring of spirits with devoutness and  in surrender to God. These spirits acting like angels.

Islam recognizes Jewish and Christian prophets but believe that their message have been manipulated and based more on work of humans rather than God.
Islam was instituted as a recall to monotheism, from which Jews and Christians had drifted away. Islam was not a new religion but a call to return to strict path.

One God, Allah, who is detached from humans with no likeness and no divine son. Allah is transcendent and present everywhere.

Allah rules over two worlds: al shahada and al ghaib.
Al shahada is available to humans. This visible world consists from earth, moon, stars and animals which are not self-ruling but are the evidence of the unseen creative force; sign by which Allah reveals himself.
Al ghaib is available only to humans through special revelation. The reality of this world is unknown and mysterious and can be revealed by miracles, which shows the true form of what is beneath. Miracles are a sign of God's power.

Difference between human beings and God has a strong emphasis in Islam. The movement of  Sufism developed ( suf means wool, earliest followers wore woolen garments) as a form of personal mystical training that aimed to overcome this perception. The inner spirituality was brought to Islam by Sufis.

The God and the self can merge by the purification of consciousness.
Jalal ad-Din ar-Rumi was the founder of the sect known as the Dancing Dervishes and its members were adherents of the Sufism developed around AD800 - 900 as a way to reach union with God:
I died a mineral and became a plant. I died a plant and rose an animal.I died an animal and I was a man. Why should I fear? When was I less by dying? Yet once more I shall die as man, to soar with the blessed angels; but even from angelhood I must pass on. All except God perishes. When I have sacrificed my angel soul, I shall become that which no mind ever conceived. O, let me not exist! for non-Existence proclaims, To Him we shall return.

Under direction of shaikh Sufi brotherhood widespread in twelfth to nineteenth centuries. The aim was not to earn credits for the next world by the mortification of the flesh but rather liberate the spirit to improve the communication with divine.
More orthodox Muslims resit the idea of union with God and that individual could in some sense become a God is seen as disrespectful.
